In 2015 the Norwegian sprinkler market declined 4.7% as construction activity fell, with the economy hurt by declining oil prices. According to the OECD, GDP per capita was down 8.6% from its peak in 2013. Nevertheless Norway leads the world in sprinkler usage per capita. The total market was 667,266 sprinklers of which 134,288 (20%) were residential sprinklers.

The Swiss sprinkler market also declined in 2015. According to figures from SES, the Swiss fire and security industry association, order intake declined 12% from CHF130 million to CHF114 million. The Swiss economy was hit by a sudden currency appreciation in January 2015, when the central bank unpegged the Swiss Franc from the Euro. Investment declined sharply.
