The sprinkler systems cost \u00a3810,000. Another \u00a3341,450 was spent on building work.<\/p>\n<p>Other councils in the UK are also retrofitting sprinklers in high-risk social housing. For example, Southwark Council in London has fitted sprinklers in 25 sheltered housing complexes, at a cost of \u00a33,200,000.
