Carwyn Jones, First Minister of Wales, welcomed the requirement for all new housing in Wales to be fitted with sprinklers. Speaking at a reception in the Welsh Assembly to mark this huge step forward in fire safety, he praised Ann Jones, the Assembly Member who introduced the\u00a0 proposal in the Welsh Assembly\u00a0and who pushed it through an extraordinary number of regulatory steps, in the face of considerable opposition from vested interests. On behalf of the people of Wales, he thanked Ann and all who had supported her.<\/p>\n
