Sprinklers in apartments are rare in The Netherlands. When a fire in a high-rise apartment building was extinguished by the sprinkler system the media took an interest, initially focussing on water damage but also looking at how well the sprinkler does its job. John van Lierop of VEBON and EFSN explained how sprinklers work in a demonstration held at the EFSN chairman’s company, Aqua+ Sprinklersystemen.
